About Me

My name is Tami Rauch, and my background in pediatric dentistry fostered a deep appreciation of art, creativity, and the natural world. This, combined with my problem-solving skills, a keen curiosity, and the drive to learn about the relations between materials and their environment, eventually led me to explore glass fusing.

I am constantly seeking out new materials and techniques. As it says in Psalms 119:99, “From all my teachers I have learned." This verse is a reminder to me that learning is a lifelong journey, and that we should be open to new ideas and perspectives, especially if they challenge us.

I create exquisite, innovative, handcrafted kiln-formed fused glass art. I strive to capture the dynamic beauty of nature and inspire viewers to see the world anew.

I am captivated by the way light dances upon glass, revealing ever-shifting layers of transparency, luminosity, and color. This medium, with its inherent versatility and transformative potential, offers boundless creative possibilities. Through the interplay of light, color, shape, and shadow, I infuse still objects with a sense of movement and dynamism, highlighted by the glass's paradoxical delicacy and strength.

My pieces, characterized by bold colors, intense forms, and captivating textures, bear the unmistakable mark of my unique style. Each project unfolds through a meticulous iterative process of experimentation, innovation, and problem-solving discovery. There’s a dynamic relationship between my vision and the inherent properties of glass. I challenge the glass, and the glass challenges me. Ultimately, it is not imagination that sets the artist’s boundaries, but one's understanding of the medium and a willingness to embrace the unexpected.

I welcome studio visits, commissioned projects, and collaborations.

"The only limit to one’s creativity, is one’s own limited imagination"
